Just Finished: Gravity Rush Remastered (PS Now)
What a delightful game. I originally tried playing the game on Vita back when it was offered as a PS Plus game a few years back. I got about halfway through before giving up. I'm glad they brought this game to PS4. It really deserved another chance. The gameplay was easier to handle with a TV screen and Dualshock controller rather than the Vita and motion controls. The art style is charming and Bluepoint did a great job polishing the graphics to HD quality. The game's length feel just right. Not too short but not too long. It's a nice small scale take on open world gameplay. The premise is phenomenal. Controlling the gravity powers is so fun and freeing, it is a wonderfully unique concept. The camera has some issues and the combat isn't stellar either. The missions tend to devolve into a repetitive fight against the enemies. The music and story are winsome as well. Kat is an appealing heroine. The game shows some of its budget limitations with the comic panel style storytelling. The game is one of the best examples of the Vita's legacy. I miss Japan Studios and hope that Sony continue to produce quirky games like this. I'm happy to know that there is at least a PS4 sequel that I plan to play some time next year.
