I definitely agreed with your points which is why I loved the game so much, but there were 2 things for me that dropped my enjoyment of the game a bit. The biggest thing is when during the day you can kill the visionaries. Knowing the open freedom of Arkane games, I figured before launch that all 8 visionaries would be on the island at the same time and depending on the time of day, their locations and reactions would be different, or something along those lines. Instead, the most visionaries you can take out in a single time period is 2! Then you have to intentionally go to the next time period to take out another 2. That took away a lot of the immersion because I was thinking of all the possible ways I can take out all 8 as quickly as possible. Instead, I have to end a run to get to the next couple of visionaries. It was very un-Arkane like to limit the freedom to the biggest aspect of the game. That was my biggest gripe. The second was just the ending lol

Overall though, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I would still recommend.

I walked into this game thinking the same thing, with the one open world with real time of day elements however i actually didn't mind how it broke it up as well. It made me focus more on finding clues in smaller areas and made me strategize more on killing 1 or 2 visionaries at a time. I did believe at one point that near the end, the game would offer one event where it gives you the whole island to explore and the 1 day to kill off all 8 visionaries. However even though that wasn't to be, i really enjoyed the heavy amount of attention to detail Arkane placed in all the maps and the amount of options they gave the player to be an assassin. If they were to make a Deathloop 2, ill be looking forward to it due to how much the first game got me involved.
