Pokemon IS a big Christmas hit. Remake or not. Also, Metroid Dread isn't a 2D spinoff. It's literally where the series started. Mario Party is getting bigger too, with the last one selling 15M. Both Pokemon and Mario Party will likely go over the 10M mark eventually.
