Specially since they know they can get away with it. How much profit do they make on the switch and the ps4 by now? 

At $300, must be quite a bit. And with people more than willing to fork over the cash, Sony and Nintendo at least seem to have decided that selling less systems at a higher price is preferable to selling more at a lower price.
