I guess that's the point we fundamentally disagree on.

You don't see adding haptic feedback (and the couple other things) as new content, I do. All actions have to be coded to give specific feedback instead of general rumble. It's not flipping a switch.

Dolby Atmos is simply a different audio format, does not require adding content.
Rumble is already in the game, it's not adding new content to have it also work on PC.

Do you you still get rumble when playing the game in BC mode? It would be odd to have that turned off but I don't know.
Haptic feedback != rumble. Different things, different implementations.

And don't worry I say the same things for all games and don't even know yet whether I like GoT or not. I haven't played it yet. And why would I care about games I don't like? I wouldn't want to play them again anyway.

Angry Joe doesn't get it either (or his sidekick), "charging you while they didn't do jack shit". Again, presuming that haptic feedback requires no work. It magically appears when the controller supports it and just because they can they turn it off so they can charge you for it. "Not worth 10 dollars for me" Then just play the ps4 version in BC mode or play it on the ps4. They say the new consoles are not that impressive anyway, then whine about not getting the not impressive features for free. Embarrassing.

It comes down to disagreeing with each other but like i said, PS5 customers should already have the benefits over the PS4 owners. Sony should be looking after their PS5 customers by adding these offerings for free. Like i said the DLC is acceptable, paying for more content is nothing new and i can actually justify that, but i am left scratching my head wondering why PS5 owners have to pay extra for exclusive features on there console which they paid a premium price for.

As i said, games get upgraded all the time for free, adding the latest sound, visuals and optimizations if you own the latest hardware that can utilize the latest features is the expectation we should all be having. Some games even include new DLC for free just to keep their customers happy which is my point here.

AJ's view is not wrong, he is a huge fan of GOT and its his GOTY last year. However he and many others don't understand the PS5 upgrade charge. Lets be honest here, it would cost Sony peanuts to implement these features into these games and even if that wasn't the case, they are already making a ton of profit because GOT DC is being sold at full price and still charging for the extra DLC so its not like they couldn't add the PS5 features for free, its they don't want to add them for free because they know people will bend over for them and pay up regardless. Its not the $10 which is the issue, its the principle of it. I wouldn't want PC gaming to start charging me extra in games to implement Ray Tracing or using super fast SSDs or adding in 8k textures and 120fps. Its free now and i would much rather it stay that way.

All i am saying is that the PS5 customers should have the automatic luxury of the better experience because they brought the latest hardware. Instead of locking them behind a paywall and claiming more money in the process. PS5 owners should expect it, not pay for it.

Yeah, there seems to be a fundamental disconnect from reality when it comes to some arguments I'm seeing. When the entire crux of a person's argument is either hinging on the idea that adding PS5's programming and controller features doesn't count or is actually bad, you know you're not debating with someone who is using logic to fuel their points.

Improved assets, updates to performance, better loading time, better framerates, new features, new controller functions, and in the case of Ghost of Tsushima, a whole new animation for Japanese voice overs. From what I saw the lip sync was absolutely terrible and not worth the improved cost at all, but its quality isn't the point when compared to the fact that real work was put into it and thus it is deserving of money.

And like you and others have said, this game in particular already had a whole swath of content added to it at no charge. They did that to increase the value of the game and it worked. Now they're taking it further and decided they wanted to get paid for this upgrade. Nothing about this is anti-consumer, none of this is greedy or manipulative, it's just not as generous as some people have trained themselves to expect. that's on them, not the devs or even the publishers.

You continue to misunderstand whats being said. There is nothing wrong with innovations, nothing wrong with adding them. The issue is paying for something you as a customer (In your case a consumer) already owns the hardware.

The reality is these features they are adding should be for free for PS5 customers, because you know, they own the console. Paying to use them especially on 1st party games is nothing more than "F@#$ you, give me money" approach from a business. One day you will realize this.

Everything mentioned in the PS5 upgrade can easily be free for PS5 owners, because PS5 owners should have the automatic luxury of these benefits because they are the ones that paid premier price to have the best experience. instead they paid top dollars to have the same experience unless they pay up a little fee. You honestly don't see the issue? Do whatever you want, its not my money.

Does 500GB of storage meet the expectations of gamers for a next gen console? How about 1TB? Should it be 2TB? Wasn't 500GB already borderline last gen back in 2013?

Why a next gen console with only 500GB of storage that costs $299 total? Why an optional 1TB SSD storage add on that costs $219? Why not a 500GB SSD add on for say, $150? Why isn't it just a free upgrade? You already have the initial $299 hardware, right?

Could've just thrown 1TB in it from start and been done with it so it was the same as the higher tier $499 model, no? Was this done to keep the price down? Was it done to give options? Was it done to upsell? Should gamers expect free extra's/add ons to what they purchased originally?

*Everyone pays for everything, one way or another.
