I was going to wait to see how the motion controls were. And this does sound disappointing, like it might be better just to play Tiger Woods on Wii. You'd think they'd actually try to use the Joy Cons properly.
It's kind of like the Punch Out game on Wii which was built around button controls, and was an inferior motion control boxing game to Wii Sports. Arms was another kind of disappointing boxing game, although not quite as bad - my gripe was arms was that a proper punch would fly off to the side, to perform a straight you had to keep your fist sideways, which felt very unnatural.
Too bad the Switch hasn't had many great motion games.
