Switch probably doesn't have that stuff because it ended up being a complete waste of development time for those features on the Wii U. Anyone remember TVii? Or that you could control your TV volume and channel with the Gamepad? Or that the menu used to be extremely slow, probably because of all these additional features? Nintendo spent multiple updates to help speed up the Wii U menu. Probably spent a bunch of development time on that. None of this helped the Wii U sell. So Nintendo just focused on games and a snappy and quick menu for the Switch. Seemed to work out fine for Nintendo.
