This "purity" arguments of keeping gaming devices clean makes no sense. If this was the point TVs would be only to watch broadcast shows and mobile only to make calls

The ideia of a multimedia device is good regardless of what the system was mainly designed to do. I'm sure nobody here think it's a bad thing listen to music in smartphones, why would be a bad thing listen music in your Switch?

In reality it's something I would love, plug my phone on my Switch and run Spotify while I play something, currently I need to plug it on my smartphone or PC and keep both devices active to make it work

I think what's being missed here is that of the 3 main companies in the home video game sphere, 2 of them are multimedia companies, and the other is primarily a video game company.  Sony and Microsoft have a vested interest in trying to dominate your living room in order to sell you on other products.  Nintendo isn't trying to also sell you a TV, PC, phone, DVD/Bluray/digital movie, CD/digital music, etc..  They just want you to play their video games.

Ok, but I want my gaming devices to be more useful than just a gaming devices and what about it?

Will it hurt anybody to have an option to download other apps? Will it make Switch any worse? Is there any reasonable reason to be against it?
