I have had five Joy-Con with drifting, two pairs and a left unit. I use my Switch a lot, mind you, but I treat it like a prince, and I never had such problems with my Wii U units and my 360.
Another frequent problem is that the Joy-Con rails become loose overtime and the controllers can detach from the console very easily. This can be solved with a case, but I don't think it should ever be needed, to begin with.
Switch is a great console, but it's a crystal-like product.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
