I really see this gen playing out like last. Biger gap but not huge. 

People started leaving the Xbox platform because of that reveal. Xbox One's failure was directly tied to the way it was launched. No one wanted Kinect, always online, etc.

Your doing exactly what I said was done during the beginning of last gen. Like I said, every step was applauded by fans at every single turn and was determined to be the turning point of how it would overtake the US, its strongest market. Be it removing Kinect, lowering the price, gamepass, buying Mojang, backwards compact. Every single one was the "IT" factor missing at the time and after each failed it was always back to, "but the reveal was awful". Always back to the one thing that cant be turned back to compare the results. And all of it was BS. The one thing that we can truly say is that the ps3 was in a much worse situation launching much more expensive, weaker and a year later but it turned it around by the power of its exclusive games alone. This was told to xbox fans all along the 8th gen while they praised all the other things phill gave them besides games. ANd we are back to the same thing. 

Im willing to bet that if this gen goes the same or worse for the xbox they will no doubt bring back 2013 reveal and say that its still hurting them. Never lack games.
