I like the idea with software, if the Switch Pro gets a higher number of exclusive games, it should be considered a new device. |
New 3DS and DSi got exclusive games. Their numbers are counted towards their respective families and they're not considered new generations.
Ultimately, it will depend on how Nintendo positions it, whether they treat it as a successor or a midgen refresh a la New 3DS, Xbox One X, or Gameboy Colour.
