Firstly, what rumour? Shouldn't that be in the OP?

Secondly, didn't they just sign a deal with Epic?

To answer your 2nd question, they are indeed working on 2 games for Epic. But they have 4 teams currently, working on 5 games between them:

  • Team #1- The small AAA team that developed Control, which has now moved on to developing a new AAA IP
  • Team #2- A small 15 person single A team called Vanguard, which is developing a co-op title on Unreal Engine 4 instead of Remedy's own Northlight engine
  • Team #3- A large AA/small AAA team that is currently developing the campaign for CrossFireX
  • Team #4- AAA team that is currently developing 2 games which were funded by Epic, one small and one large. Both games seem to be in the Remedy shared universe (Alan Wake, Quantum Break, Control), and the larger of the two is rumored to be Alan Wake 2.

It seems like team #1 is doing the Playstation exclusive, given what we've heard about it.

That's great news if true. Having just played a few hours of Control on PS5, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very solid game.

Remedy seem to be strong with the gameplay, setting and visuals but fall short on characters, dialogue and story.

I wouldn't have even tried Control, but it was free on PSN. I feel the marketing for this game really let it down (although as a concept its probably a little difficult to market).
