What could they possibly release in March 2022 that could produce such massive hardware sales like Animal Crossing 2020 and Monster Hunter 2021? I don't think Zelda would be it. It's a sequel game, so it's automatically doomed to do less than Breath of the Wild, plus many of the buyers of that game already have Switch's to they bought to play Botw on.

I'm thinking it will need to be some massive exclusive (at least to console) game we haven't seen on Switch before.

Have you ever thought of Switch Sports Resort ?

I think that could potentially be Nintendo’s biggest win. But it’s got to be more than just 10-15 year old Wii sports with online features and a graphical facelift. It should feel like the jump from GTA 2 to GTA 3, or Legend of Zelda 1 to Link to the Past, or Dragon Quest 2 and 3 to Dragon Quest 4 and 5. It has to bring it up to an advanced feeling - and these game upgrades were much more than just graphical upgrades, they felt more advanced.

So, Switch Sports would have to be something sufficiently more advanced from a design and technological standpoint. I know Nintendo was developing some sensory interface, that would be a compelling sell - but I’d save it as a launch wager alongside something like Super Mario Galaxy 3 or similar caliber platformer/adventure game, and Mario Kart to close out the launch window. Also, Ring Fit 2 to work with the interface.
