I actually quite like The Velvet Underground and the whole Factory scene, as well as the CBGB scene that followed. Lots of experimental music and the 80s was basically born out of the polishers and imitators. But for these sorts of bands and movements, the Beatles studio revolution was a massive influence on them all.

I would also like to clarify, i like the Beatles, when the Beatles werent a band, i actually quite like John and the other members as solo musicians! Even Lou Reed covered John's "Jealous Guy". Great song, and cover!
