Faulty as it was (mainly because, at the launch time, it failed to do what the Ultra 64 showcases had shown prior to the console's release, causing a blow to the expectations they themselves generated), I have to say that nothing, nothing at all would compare to the N64 experience at the time. People get so impressed by the wrong factors imho they would forget that gameplay in a huge majority of PS1 3D titles was simply garbage and in no way comparable with the no loading, real time cutscenes, full 3d experiences on the 64 and would go like "you saw that CG"? Or "man, how easy it is to get a cheap copy of a PS game"? Not to be trolling or anything, but I almost bought a PS1 and then my friend and I came to an agreement: I would get a 64 and he a PS so we could play both ones and I always tend to think he regretted it a bit, even if he would have more titles to play in general. 64 was the right decision, especially tech wise, I have always thought, but it is not what the majority thinks, not now, not then.
