Sometimes I play games and don't like the story. Gameplay is still the saving grace, and trumps story. Death stranding for example, to me looked boring from what I saw online, but experiencing was totally different. The feel of the controls was tight and realistic, it was more personal when playing on my own no distractions, was immersed in the world, I had to think for my self and things were at stake. It's a totally different experience when you are given the pwer of control. Games like minecraft and animal crossing don't appeal to me at all, and I think how on earth can someone play that, but I bet if I let my mind go play it for a few hrs there is a 50% chance I might like it. |
Thats fair enough. I only saw a few trailers of Death Stranding and I thought the gameplay looked kinda fun. The story looked crazy and interesting and the graphics were great. I played through the game and I found the gameplay kinda fun. I found the story to be crazy and interesting and the graphics were great. I also have over 30 years of experience with playing video games, so I can usually get a great overall picture of a game from trailers and videos. Let alone full playthroughs.
Doesnt mean a game cant surprise me. Animal Crossing: New Horizons sure as hell did. Thats a game were I didnt have much to compare it to though. Its pretty much the first Life Sim Ive ever played. TLOU2 is a sequel and Im sure I would think the game looked amazing if I watched a playthrough on Youtube instead of playing it myself.
Im not saying watching it is the same as playing it as some here seems to think. Of course it isnt. Im just saying I can form a pretty accurate opinion alot of the time by watching a game being played.
