Good Lord... C'mon, one more time. Third one is the charm.

Then pay attention to the evidence and I won't need to repeat myself.

You didn't get into specifics AT ALL in your first statment. After saying that "it's the worst way to play the game" you said that if people didn't care about performance and graphics, it was a good option. But that's not the same as specifying that you were only talking about technical aspects. That's why you engaged in an argument with me about portable PCs also having gyro controls and portability (despite me specifying that those advantages were mostly on the console competition) despite in your own words not being interested in discussing those aspects, and that's why four people agreed with me when I called you out on your first statement. Clearly, I wasn't the only one that thought you were speaking in general. Since I'm not alone on this, maybe, just MAYBE you should consider the possibility that you didn't explain yourself properly... or that you are flat out lying to me for whathever reason.

I LITERALLY quoted myself getting into specifics in my last post.

The SPECIFICS were I was pointing out VISUALS and FRAMERATES.

Again... I shall quote myself again.

If you don't care about framerates and visuals and wish to play it in portable mode, you really can't go wrong unless you get a handheld PC or use xcloud.

That was in my first post, thus making your entire complaint ultimately redundant.

To be fair, whether people agree with you or not is irrelevant, there are people out there that get together and believe the Earth is Flat.

The like-feature is more to do with popularity rather than a construct that determines the truth of a post, making that point fallacious.
And I don't care what other users think of me, I am here to do a job, post, and engage others. - I'll leave the pointless interpersonal politics to those who care for such things or have the time.

If all you are going to do is keep repeating like a parrot that you were talking about technical matters all the time without truly adressing the incoherences that statement has... then please, don't. Just don't say anything else. If that's the case, you win, ok? You explained yourself perfectly from the beginning, you never changed your mind mid-argument and no one besides me misunderstood you. You did everything great. Have a good night.

I wouldn't need to repeat myself if you bothered to even read my quotes that rebukes your prior statements.

My opening post in this thread was talking about framerates and visuals which are the technical makeups of the game, the quote (Which I have now conveniently posted twice for you now) reaffirms that.

Do learn to read.

Those are rather expensive handhelds

You get what you pay for.
You want the absolute best and cutting edge hardware? That's not free sadly...

As old as Crysis is the Switch version still looks pretty great in my opinion thanks to modern additions like SVOGI, updated water effects/depth of field/motion blur, etc. There aren't very many Switch games that look better to me, the few that do are more artistically stylized fare like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Trine 4, and as mentioned Luigi's Mansion.

It definitely does look great... And you are right that the ray tracing (SVOGI) does give it a good tick in the pants as far as visuals go.
But Crysis for all intents and purposes (as in the original game and not the remaster) would have been entirely possible as is on the Switch, the Remaster just brings with it new technical aspects that leverages the maxwell GPU to a better degree.

Win/win for us all.

I am really excited to see what Metroid brings to the table, Metroid on Gamecube was a technical feat... So I expect similar results with the Switch.

Yeah, you keep repeating your first post because that's all you have. Or think you have, I tell you again that your initial affirmation can be easily interpreted in a different way. Specially after the harsh, flat out statement that is "it's the worst way to play it". Hey, I'll join you, let's copy your favourite quote again, but this time, I'll put the first statement over the part you quoted:

"It is the worst way to play the game, but it's also an absolute achievement in porting to the Switch with this level of fidelity.

If you don't care about framerates and visuals and wish to play it in portable mode, you really can't go wrong unless you get a handheld PC or use xcloud."

What's bolded doesn't negate the absolute sense of the first sentence "it's the worst way to play it". It's more like "it"s the worst way to play it, but let's remember that it's a great technical achievement". While you are indeed mentioning technical aspects, those doesn't affect the meaning of the first sentence at all.

And thething is... if we read your favourite paragraph with the context of the first one, it reads something like this:

"well, since it doesn't has cutting edge graphics or great performance, it will only be enjoyed if you really want to play it on portable. And even then there are better options. So it really is the worst option to play the game"

But the fun part (and the one you conviniently keep avoiding) is even more revelatory. Because if there was any doubts about what were you talking about when you said it was the worst way to play it, they completely disappear with your second post. Which I quote:

"It is the worst way to play.

PC has portability covered. But don't take my word for it (shows table with portable PCs).

Gyro controls are found on other platforms also."

If, as you say, were only talking about framerates and graphics... Why did you bite the bone and engaged with me in a discussion about gyro controls and portability? I mean, in your third post you stopped that discussion by saying that you were only talking about framerates and resolutions. But that was clearly not the case, because just one post earlier we were talking about those very things (gyro and portability).

In fact, if we take a look at this quote, we can se how you reiterate your point "it's the worst way to play" and then proceed to defend that statement by saying that those features I say the Switch has over other platforms can be found on other platforms. You are arguing with me about the Switch being the worst way to play the game and in order to do it, you try to prove that my statement is innacurate. My statement about gyro controls and portability. The one you keep saying it has nothing to do with your sentence "it's the worst way to play the game". Only it does.

And when you realized you fucked up by not reading that I was talking specifically about other consoles and not portable PCs (ironic that you are telling me to learn to read, lol) and thus proving that the Switch has features other platforms don't, you backed off and tried to sell me that you were always all about the technical stuff. Well Mr. Permalite you're gonna have to excuse me, but if that's what you were all about, you shouldn't have tried to argue about gyro controls and portability not being exclusive features of the Switch version after reiterating how the Switch was the worst way to play the game.

Had enough?
