It's strange, everyone I know who's playing the game seems to love it. Critics love it (90 on MC is quite good). I guess it's pretty bad on console right now (unfortunate), but once you get past the issues the game itself sounds very good. I'm eager to play it once they've ironed out the kinks.
Sounds like people are just eager to trash it. Reminds me of the last time a game had progressive features and options, suddenly everyone hates it and is making up a dozen excuses why the trans/lesbian person isn't the reason.
