I suspect Nintendo doesn't care as Animal Crossing sold many more copies than TLOU, which indicates more people liked it. If they get snubbed by artsy-fartsy critics, but the people are behind them, then it's a win. Would it be nice for them to win with the critics too? For sure. I think ACNH really helped a TON of people get through all the isolation periods of the last year and it is a calm, relaxing game, as opposed to so many other games which are stressful and anxiety producing.
