i never understood why people give release dates if they aren't hundred percent sure they'd be able to deliver. Better to jsut give a time frame, with in a year or a few months when they are ready. No need to get people's hopes up. Or just give progress updates and once it goes gold give a time frame.

Anything can happen in a project. Release dates need to be published in advance to prepare all partners in distribution. 1 month is already extremely short.

Compare it with an online store that promises to deliver your package on Monday but then has to delay it because of a sudden storm. It was absolutely necessary to tell you the exact delivery date in advance so you can prepare to receive it. Would you rather that any online store lists all delivery dates in spans of several months just to make absolutely sure they hit the time frame?

what i mean is that they shouldm't announce something too early. Everyone should do what bethesda did with fallout 4 and announce or show off a game that 's near the end of production and give a date when the know it will be done by. There is no need to get everyone hyped too early and waiting when there are other games to keep us busy.
