Couldn't you just filter general and politics threads from your Hot Topics then? I don't see the harm, it's not stopping people from making gaming threads.

Already have a filter in my Hot Topics, just saw it come up on the main site while I was logged off.

I was debating whether or not to post this message, as I know some might take it personally.
Either way, normally ignore non-video game topic here at VGC and will continue to do so.
