Depends.
If the console itself is too expensive, I won't be buying games because I won't be buying the console to play them on. If that means the console needs to be subsidized, and that subsidy is (partially) paid off through a reasonable increase to game prices, then that makes sense to me. Those games also have to live up to their price however.
