If XBSS is too good of a deal it's going to way outsell XBSX. That won't be good for XBSX non exclusive games in the future.
XBSS and XBSX are being set up like XB1S and XB1X from last gen. If you want the upgraded model, you pay more, but get a lot more.
XBSS isn't supposed to be the end all be all, it's a cheap entry point into next gen and the majority of casuals will be just fine with that.

PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
