What drought? There are anywhere between 20 and 40 new games a week. Switches are constantly sold out at retail and the resellers are scamming 75-90% profit because of high demand.

Also, Wii sold over 100 million units, it was Nintendo's most successful home console in its history with record setting revenue, hardware sales, and software sales.

Third party and indie games don't count, apparently.

Yes there are games coming out, but not many exclusive games.  But come Playstation is getting a new system and we still got huge games The Last of Us 2, Final Fantasy VII remake, and Ghost.  Obviously Animal Crossing is the biggest game of the 4 games listed from a sales perspective.  I'm pretty sure Animal Crossing was finished last year, but they decided to push it off to this year to try and fill in the early part of the year.  Paper Mario is cute but not exactly what fans were looking for in a Paper Mario game.  Bug Fables rocked and was what Paper Mario fans should demand Nintendo goes back to with Paper Mario.  I would say my two favorite Switch games this year are Bug Fables and Shantae and both are on multiple consoles.  As soon as Nintendo announces the Mario games and at least one non remake 1st party game for the Switch releasing this year all will be forgiven.
