I don't mind any elements that make Metroid more accessible, as long as I can shut them off. Perfect example is the hint system. That's the first thing that gets switched off for me when I play the Prime games. But I wouldn't punish new players and players that have a difficult time figuring out where to go next. Similarly, MK8DX introduced an auto-accelerate and a guided driving experience. With a few clicks they're removed.

I'm also completely ok with more casual spinoffs from the series, once they stick the landing on a new Prime game and a new 2D game. Hit those out of the park and then feel free to make Metroid Sims for all I care.
