where the market is not saturated with many titles such as this giving it less competition which will earn it more sales.

On the one hand this could be true. RE4 was clearly helped by missing competition. On the other hand releasing a game for a console where other genres seem to sell well could be a bad strategy as well. Because of that developers copy successful games instead of doing the opposite to have no competition. So it could go both ways. In any case: huge is a bit hyperbole .

I'm not comparing it to MGS. I'm simply saying that niche doesn't mean less sales

Depends if you have a big niche or a small niche. Generally niche implies a small target group and low but predictable sales. I think a game where your only protection is a camera has a small target group and mentioning it in the same sentence as MGS4 is insulting .

"Huge" may be somewhat of an overstatement but still accurate.  Compared to the rest of the series, this one has a much better chance given the circumstances stated.  It's different from RE4 because the series was already big, and RE4 sales are actually less than the rest of series in context.  The Fatal Frame series however has not had extroardinary sales, and given the under saturation of titles like this on the Wii, it automatically becomes a much more important release.  It's kinda like how Viva Pinata became a lot bigger title on 360 because it released in an area on the 360 where there was little saturation.  That title has sold over a million as we've seen for those very reasons.

Yes niche implies a small target group meaning it's supposed to have little appeal due to the specifics of the game.  MGS in theory is a niche title.  I mean the gameplay, the story, the other things in it, would generally give it a low appeal.  but due to being very high quality, popular brand, it sells like a Halo or Final Fantasy.

And it's only insulting if you mix sales with opinion.  Sales are the facts of gaming discussion.  But that never takes anything away from any game.  No More Heroes didn't sell amazingly well, but I don't find it insulting when anyone says it didn't sell well.  People shouldn't find it insulting if I call MGS4 niche or in the same setence with a somewhat niche title like Fatal Frame.
