Yeah, I don't get this 'artstyle' argument. Halo has always had the most bland, generic art direction I've ever seen for a sci-fi shooter. you know what had great and interesting art direction? Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. Those games had style. Halo's 'style' has always been 'generic space shooter.' It's got a Halo look and feel, but even back in 2001 I thought it was bland and unoriginal and completely forgettable.

and that was before I knew what art direction even was. I was a dumb kid of 15 who was on board with all the 'uber realistic photoreal graphics' train, caring so much about fidelity, and even back then I was like "Man, this game looks boring." and I didn't even know why at the time.

Ok. I could understand saying this about Halo 2. I can understand saying this about the 343 games. Hell, I can even understand saying this about Halo 1.

But Halo 3? ODST? REEEEE-ach? You, sir, have pulled the last jenga block. Have stepped on the wrong toe. Have blurted out the only opinion to be factually incorrect in the entire universe of ideas, and that's saying a lot because some people find FRIENDS funny. I will .... do something .... sometime .... to make you wish you had never said such filthy words, well ... written such filthy words. Trust me.

I didn't say it about Halo 3 or ODST, I said it about the first and that the series never really had its own identity. I actually like 3 and reach, and they are the most interesting looking, but come on man, you know they're nothing special in terms of art direction or stylization.

Also, for the life of me I never understood the love for Friends. I didn't like Seinfeld as a kid but came to appreciate it as I grew up. Friends, on the other hand, was dumb and I hate it even more now than I did in its prime.
