On the motion controls in Skyward Sword.
In my opinion, this game proved that simpler motion controls were more satisfying. Games like WarioWare Smooth Moves, Wii Sports, Just Dance, Scarface, Godfather, RE4, etc... These games which used simple IR aiming and slash movements and such, they were MUCH more satisfying to play.
While people were saying they wanted more complex motion-based games the reality is, as is the case with all video games, simplicity is most often more satisfying. Game design that makes things easier and snappier has always prevailed over that which aims for these complex designs for complexity's sake.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
