*nods* Then you've got OCPD. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I have a clinically diagnosed case of OCPD and I did a lot of research after the fact to differentiate between the two. A lot of people just lump it all in as OCD when that's a far more crippling, irrational, potentially damaging disorder than OCPD. They're very different things but have very similar names/acronyms so people lump 'em in together.

NOW YOU KNOW!

Yeah as someone with clinically diagnosed OCD it's a hell of a lot more sinister and harmful than the stereotypes suggest. It's less feeling antsy over uneven numbers and more being convinced you're dying of cancer because you accidentally inhaled a bit of cigarette smoke four years ago, or feeling like you'll be murdered in your sleep if you don't check if the doors are locked six times before bed.

EXACTLY! OCPD isn't fun either but it has its merits and is more on the 'rational' side. OCD is scary and so hard to alleviate and in many ways focused on irrational or repetitive behaviours. There's a world of difference even though they sound very similar on the surface.

My condolences. I only have OCPD, I cannot imagine what you go through.
