It felt like there was no point to it eventually. Nothing about the game was better than average (except the graphics). Average controls, average mechanics, average combat, average exploration. The most 6/10 game I've ever played.

Comparatively, Star Fox games were never brutally average like that, they're quite the opposite. They either hit it out of the park (Star Fox 64), or get it all dramatically wrong (most of them lol), but they're always an all-or-nothing kind of experience, never a "I guess I'm playing a game" one. It's not even that I think Star Fox games shouldn't ever have any exploration, but if they do it in the Starlink way, it'll go badly wrong.

Welcome to the general Ubisoft experience.

Way I feel about it is that, if some want Star Fox to be like Starlink, they just don't want to play more Star Fox games. Same with asking for F-Zero to be more than a tight and fast futuristic racing game.
