Wrong assumption. The 1 week advanced reviews had restrictions on revealing story, the ones that released after the embargo had less restrictions but that isn't because they didn't receive a copy of the game.

Look at Digital Foundry they gave two reveals, one on the week advance and one on release day.

Yes, and Gamespot did the same thing as well, as did a few other reviewers. But Metacritic only published the first review and the scores actually were the same so that didnt make a difference.

I didnt bother to check all of them but "The Gamer" has a note at the end of the review stating they purchased a copy which brought forth my question.
