I think in America that would certainly be the case, most of the big games are on both systems and I'm sure a number of people are going to be more willing to upgrade to whichever system is a better value (BluRay and a larger hard drive will of course factor into the decision.)
In Europe however where a larger MS pricedrop already occurred we can see this clearly isn't the case, Sony Brand loyalty and anti-MS sentiment have ensured that the PS3 and 360 aren't considered equal among a large portion of the gaming population.
