To your comment though, I think the Playstation 3 will have a dedicated fanbase irregardless. I think with the exclusives coming out, the system will show that it has a lineup that is worth looking at. There are also the significant multiplatform games coming/came as well, like Guitar hero, Madden, GTAIV etc just in time for the start of school. I wouldn't call it insignificant either that the price cut happens about the same time.
I was talking about the people who aren't hardcore, don't visit forums and just want a system to play games. These aren't the dedicated hardcore, because obviously those people already belong to Sony or Microsoft. They probably outnumber the really hardcore by about 4-1 and they are much more platform agnostic.
I do understand about those people waiting - but they aren't in the market for consoles right now. I was talking about people who are buying here and now rather than when the best blu ray player hits $299.
