More control options are definitely not a bad thing though, it's when they remove other options that it becomes a sticking point.

I have never seen a Switch game that does not allow you to take it off, so you should be safe.  You are right though, this option is not for everyone.  I love it, but understand why others might prefer more traditional controls.
