Sorry I misread thought you meant there has not been a new IP since W101. In anycase. W101 is still co-owned by Nintendo. This was a special case of sure but do it yourself thing.

Honestly its quite intriguing, Ninetendo published or joint published the Wii U version but I don't think Nintendo have any ownership over the IP or game itself otherwise I simply couldn't see it being on PS4 & PC.

Maybe thats why its pegged as "Remaster" as oppose to a port. Its technically a separate game maybe.
