Microsoft started the gen with one hand tied behind their back. Even with the botched launch Microsoft was able to keep it fairly close in the US. I have a feeling Xbox Series X will outsell the PS5 in the US. 

Funnily enough though it was the early gen when they were still very close there, despite all the bad PR for Xbone.
