You know the jig is up when 12.1TF over 10.3TF isn't enough for some unimaginable reason, that you have to use an old leak that doesn't entirely match up with the official announcement, to 'prove' the official PS announcement is BS.

The real annoying part of this 12TF worshipping is the fact that the XSX will not run at 12TF most of the time. If you watch any of the modern gpus at work (I'm pretty sure there are enough DF videos available on yt), you'll see that they constantly fluctuate their clockrates. No modern gpu runs at a fixed, maximum clockrate. The gpu in the XSX won't, either. So the whole "it's not 10.3TF but 12TF" argument is a waste of time.

It wasn't the best said when it was initially pointed out that the clocks were locked for XBSX. Without a proper explanation of the details behind that like loads, all the average person has to hear is that PS5 fluctuates and hits a max of 10.3TF and it was going to solidify in peoples minds that XB had a big advantage at 12.1TF.

While SNY could have tried to explain this through a detailed direct comparison, they weren't really there to compete, they were there to detail the PS5 and what it could do for devs. They also likely knew some people through (social) media would be able to straighten things out, which actually makes SNY look better. The more SNY tried to point out why the XBSX didn't have some major TF advantage, the more it would be used against them as 'damage control'. The fact they stuck to the purpose of the event and pointed out where they put their focus on the console, wasn't a dumb move. Now promoting the full 'lecture' on social media wasn't the smartest way to go about it though. They should have chopped up the vid into like a 5 minute clip, so casuals would get the specs with a touch of explanation, then link that to the full vid for those who want to bother with the nitty gritty of the system.

Both sides right now have fanboys who have followers who are either straight up selling spin or simply don't understand well enough and are promoting one as way better. Sams using an old leak to try and say official specs are wrong was the worst I've seen by far though.

In the end both will be similar enough for a while. Odds are pretty good we won't see clear enough differences for years, and even then, it's hard to say right now how much of a difference there will end up being. Heck even the pricing may not be that different, who knows.

This should end up being a good thing overall, because both systems are plenty capable, so it will force both companies to put a major focus on the games, which is where it really matters in the end. Console gamers at the moment are potentially on the verge of being spoiled rotten.
