Indeed. The more one thinks about it the darker and sadder it gets. What is the island, exactly? Why is Link there and what does he do? Is he the antagonist after all? Why else would he go and destroy this beautiful island full of peace and happiness? Why does nobody stop him and why is he never listening to the countless warnings and pleas?
Imagine this nihilistic and traumatising story is in a colorful and lovely Gameboy game. Madness, isn't it?
