Weed would allow you to catch bugs and fish better. Alcohol however would only allow you to chop down trees quicker with side effect maybe cut it down wrong and hurt yourself.

I think alcohol should make talking to other animals more animated and entertaining.

Weed should make the character have sudden moments of giant !!! before zooming in on something completely irrelevant and describing it in detail and what could be done with it.
