Anyway, back on topic. What interested me BY FAR the most of the Animal Crossing Direct was the landscaping. HOLY CRAP, that's the sort of thing I always wanted in Animal Crossing.

The biggest new feature they showed for sure! I have to imagine there's limits and restrictions, surely the game won't let remove all land from your town or completely surround a neighbors house with hills. Still, between this, furniture outside, and choosing where buildings go, the customization and control in this game is insane!

I think making the game as much of a sandbox as possible is the way to go.

They began moving in this direction with Animal Crossing Wild World. While the Gamecube game was a great idea, it was really more of a proof of concept with the main attraction being really ancient NES games. The first game that really began to dig into features and sandbox elements was Wild World. Also, being on handheld was a major plus for the game, as (imo) it's well suited for it.

One thing I hope is that New Horizons will have touch screen controls. I think I remember hearing that it doesn't. If that's the case, I hope they get patched in. Especially with some of the new interface options.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
