'99, and 1.47M for the last 16-½ weeks of 1999 as a whole), it absolutely cratered at the start of 2000, and despite a price cut its sales in 2000 as a whole were even less than in 1999 despite having a whole year (though it did narrowly defeat the PS2 in Nov. 2000; the PS2 was heavily supply-constrained, but still).
