The lack of third parties on Nintendo platforms are primarily Nintendos fault, so helping third parties shine is something they could damn well do a better job at. You say that Nintendo makes big bucks without them, yet we can go back 3 years and see that they had a hard time making the big bucks on their own IPs alone. Look at Sony and MS. They give third parties almost just as much attention as their own titles. Nintendo doesn't. That's why we get a 30 second announcements for a third party game, then 20 minutes of footage from Mario Tennis in their Directs. If they want third parties on their platform, then they have to put in the work and help out wherever they can.

Statements like this are so ridiculous. 3rd parties only have themselves to blame for their choices. And nintendo showcases any notable 3rd party release in their directs, including presentations dedicated to indies.

Its not ridiculous. Third parties aren't holding back their games just to be dicks. They do give indies a lot of attention, that's why they are thriving on the platform. If they could do that for bigger third party games as well, maybe we could see some more sales there as well.

Not going to completely disregard Nintendo when it comes to helping out third parties. Putting Ganondorf in Diablo 3 and Zelda items in Skyrim were probably very helpful to those games.
