There would be nothing silly about making a dedicated Switch commercial. A Switch version adds the value of portability to any game by default, so that's what justifies the effort of making a special commercial.

Nintendo won't care if the big third parties don't want to make money on Switch because Nintendo makes big bucks without them. Another factor is that the absence/reluctance of the big third parties puts more of the spotlight on smaller third parties, including indies, who are happy about less competition and laugh all the way to the bank.

The lack of third parties on Nintendo platforms are primarily Nintendos fault, so helping third parties shine is something they could damn well do a better job at. You say that Nintendo makes big bucks without them, yet we can go back 3 years and see that they had a hard time making the big bucks on their own IPs alone. Look at Sony and MS. They give third parties almost just as much attention as their own titles. Nintendo doesn't. That's why we get a 30 second announcements for a third party game, then 20 minutes of footage from Mario Tennis in their Directs. If they want third parties on their platform, then they have to put in the work and help out wherever they can.

Statements like this are so ridiculous. 3rd parties only have themselves to blame for their choices. And nintendo showcases any notable 3rd party release in their directs, including presentations dedicated to indies.
