Well with consoles I believe that 250w connector has always been a simple cord with an internal PSU. Pretty sure even the PS2 slim had a different connection due to it's power brick.
If they were able to squeeze a 250w PSU inside the XB1X, then they can certainly fit it in the XBSX. If XBSX is that large and the power brick is external, it's going to become a joke again like it was with XB1.
