Looks like we all assumed it was the same gen of RAM.
If that 16GB stick is DDR4 then ya, those 8GB DDR3 sticks won't slot into the mobo that the 16GB stick came out of. Best bet in that case is to get another 16GB stick. Preferably identical to the 16GB stick you already have.
