Today for some reason decided to open the Wii inside my WiiU and noticed I had some VC and WiiWare titles missing. I run to the Wii store and while listening to that beautiful long forgotten tune I am reminded that the service had ceased operation... Luckily titles can still be downloaded!
Although you cannot purchase Wii points, you can still purchase titles with any left over points till today. That's what my European Wii says, wiki states otherwise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Shop_Channel EDIT: I was sleepy or dyslexic, but you could only purchase titles till 31 January 2019 not 31 December 2019. You can still download your titles though, so long Wiiiiii.
