Yeah, the Switch is the first Nintendo console I've purchased for myself since the Nintendo 64 as well.  Was never much into handheld video games personally but we have bought a 3DS for my kids.  The reason I was never much into handheld is because I prefer a controller and TV setup.  The Switch is just a perfect system, it's nice to be able to play in bed, on the go, etc and then play it on my 65" TV when I have some free time in the evening.  I also like how easy it is to setup the Switch on a different TV.  The cartridge system they use has a very satisfying "click" feel to it that you just don't get with a CD. The Switch reinvigorated my love of playing video games!

EDIT: Actually, the Switch made me feel that Nintendo feeling again so I bought a Wii U (really underestimated system IMO) to "hack".  Having access to any NES/SNES/N64/GameCube/Wii/Wii U/handheld I want from one system is a great way to complement the Switch.  Not much into PC gaming anymore.

I am the same. I understand people enjoying handheld gaming, but I prefer playing games on a TV or PC. I've only played my Switch in handheld mode about 5-10% of the time. It is nice to have when on a long flight to help pass the time.

Now is the first time I've owned all three main systems with the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. I've previously had 2 systems in one generation, but never 3.

Funny enough, I sold off all my other systems after owning the Switch for a year, lol.  We literally have not touched any other system the past year, which is crazy because usually we play a game for a couple days then it's back to streaming media (movies/TV shows).  The Switch is different, we still play Mario Kart which was the first game we had for it!
