One other thing I'd like to add regarding pricing in various regions is taxes.
In the U.S., sales taxes are not included in the price quoted. If you live in Delaware, there are no sales taxes. If you live in Pennsylvania (like I do), there's a 6% sales tax that makes a $50 game actually cost $53. In Europe and Australia there's 'valued added tax' (VAT). It's built into the price you pay and ranges from 10% in AU to over 20% in some European countries.
Just something to keep in mind when you're comparing prices. A lot what you're paying is going to your government.
Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.
