It would be great if lighting was at the very least optional to some degree, if not user adjustable. Other than urgent status lighting, like red for a problem with the system, it would be great it you could choose everything. Maybe have a separate dedicated LED light for status?
Choose start up color, shut down color, standby color, gaming color, movie color, etc, or just turn it all off. Worst case have the internals light up on start up and shut down, but only for a few seconds at most, then have them shut off. I don't see why this couldn't be an option, if there was a separate LED for urgent status display, or if the system could override the internal lighting.
Definitely an option to shut off the controller lighting though. Like how much more black could it be, off.
