Skimmed through it, alot of new posts while I was at work so I must have missed those claims.

But yes it's clear that Switch is a hybrid and Lite is a handheld of it but still is still part of the same hardware family.

As for comparing it to PS4/XBO, I think you are getting too hung up on home, handheld & hybrid when we should just be looking at them as dedicated gaming devices.

Fair enough...I am going to (again) leave this alone.

I'll say this though we all celebrate gaming devices. And technically that's what these things all are. However, like most other industries, there are categories within the industry that compete separately within he same industry. A civic, Ford ranger raptor, Ferrari...etc are all automobiles. But we don't see their sales being compared. Any smartphone,PC, laptop, Console, Handheld...etc, are all gaming devices. Yet we don't (or rather) didn't se their sales being compared. All this time before the switch even here on VGC, there was a clear distinction between platforms and form-factors. 3DS vs PSP, Wii vs PS3 vs 360...etc. Now all of a sudden, those distinctions are archaic or cumbersome.

Just doesn't make sense to me. Especially when I know (and if you consider) that these different things aren't all in direct competition with each other. I say let the things that are directly competing together be grouped together and fight it out.

To me, this makes as little sense as comparing a Ferrari to a Civic. They are both automobiles, they both get you from point A to B, they are both in the same industry... but they are both fundamentally different propositions. This is actually more like comparing a Ferrari to a bicycle. One needs gas, the other doesn't. They are however both means of transportation.

I'll leave it at that.
